Open Enrollment (AEP) for Medicare begins today, October 15th until December 7. During this time you may join, switch or drop a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) or a prescription drug plan (part D). In some cases, you can also drop your Medicare Advantage plan and switch to a Medicare Supplement with a Part D plan.
Every year you will receive an annual notice of change letter from your insurance company. It tells you what will change for next year and what the premium will be (if your plan has a premium). I advise you to read it carefully.
Reasons people change their plan are probably the plan doesn’t cover their drugs anymore, another plan has better benefits, premium increase or their situation has changed (get new drugs or no longer eligible for a subsidy).
If you want to keep your current plan, then there’s no further action required from you. However, if you want to change your plan, you can always call me to have a free, no obligation plan review or quotes.
