Hundreds and possibly thousands of members of Alignment PPO AVA 007 and Aetna Choice PPO Medicare Advantage plan will be impacted by the plan’s termination in San Diego, CA.
Alignment and Aetna have decided to sunset these plans by 12/31/2024. Impacted members need to find a new plan to replace their termed plan.
The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period starts from October 15 to December 7. This is the perfect time to find a new plan. The plan termination allows a member to have a one-time Special Enrollment Period until 2/28/2025 to change to another plan or to have a guaranteed issue for a Medicare Supplement.
